Thousands of Gambians are lining the streets of Brikama, capital of West Coast Region, to welcome President Adama Barrow, who will address a mass political rally.

The meeting is organised by the president’s loyalist in the region, who will use the event to renew their support to his government and to assure him of victory in future elections.

Mr Barrow is expected to preach  unity and peace in the country and to thank the people of West Coast Region for the support they have shown to him and his government.

Mr Barrow is under pressure to honour an inter-party agreement he signed in 2016 whilst in opposition.

However, since being declared winner and assuming power, the president is insisting to serve the constitutionally-mandated five year term.
