(JollofNews) – An opposition party in the Gambia has said it has expelled one of its leaders on Saturday.

The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) said it dismissed Foreign Affairs Secretary Musa Bachilly from the party with immediate effect.

No reasons were given for his expulsion, but a statement from the party said Mr Bachilly is barred from taking part in all GDC’s activities, programs and functions.

Mr Bachilly said he has resigned from the party since May 13 and that his resignation was based strictly on integrity.

“The GDC administration is not in order and they are cracking and their particles are falling down,” he told Eye Africa TV.

“They are incompetent. I stepped down voluntarily and my resignation was not a distaste for the party but I decided to resign because of the incompetence of the administration.”
