(JollofNews) – President Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia has rehired Momodou Aki Bayo as the country’s Local Government and Lands Minister less than two weeks after his unceremonious removal.
Mr Bayo, who was sacked from the post two weeks ago was reappointed on Tuesday to succeed Momodou Lamin Gibba, the very man who succeeded him. Mr Gibba was fired from the post without any explanation.
This is the third time Momodou Aki Bayo is being recycled into President Jammeh’s Cabinet to serve as Lands minister.
Momodou Lamin Gibba, who served as managing director of the Gambia Ports Authority for many years, was sworn-in last week together with the newly appointed Secretary General and head of the Civil Service, Dr. Sulayman Samba at State House.
