World Bank to fund repairs on power supply system in Bissau
Friday, 10 September 2010 22:40
The agreement is due to be signed Tuesday by the Guinean economy minister, Helena Embalo, and by the World director of Operations for Guinea Bissau, Habib Fettini.

The funding will be used to fund the Emergency Rehabilitation Project for the Electricity and Water Sectors of Bissau as part of the Multi sector Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.
The Economic community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union in the last month also provided a donation of US$10 million as part of the same project.
The capital of Guinea Bissau has no permanent electricity supply or piped water supply and these services are also practically non-existent in the rest of the country. (macauhub)
