US Navy Trains Gambian Counterpart, Others On Maritime Security

US_Navy1The Gambian Navy and other security units have begun two-week training on maritime security under America’s Africa Partnership Station (APS) programme.
PANA quoted official sources as saying Friday that American Navy experts on board a navy ship recently arrived in Banjul, Gambian capital, to carry out the training.US_Navy1
Speaking at the start of the programme, US Envoy in Banjul Cynthia F. Gregg, said The Gambia, like other countries within the region, continued to face maritime threats from illegal fishing boats, drug trafficking and human trafficking networks, among others.
“The US navy is here to help The Gambia in protecting against maritime security threats,” she said.
Charles E Eaton, one of the lead trainers, said the APS is an international initiative geared towards building relationships that would improve maritime security in Africa.

I found the constant death threats..quite disconcerting. But I always returned...unafraid.

The APRC looked after me very well.

Sometimes I laugh at my own laughter.

In my long and sometimes frank conversations with Mr Halake...

I came to realise he was a teacher and a scholar of interesting thoughts and ideas

..which he does not hesitate to give.

I regret in my many trade visits to Gambia..I could not afford the time to look deeper at the many facinating aspects of Gambian "tribal" culture.

Perhaps if I had...I would have understood why it was ok to speak to some people..and not with others?

I found the constant death threats..quite disconcerting. But I always returned...unafraid.

I believed in what I was trying to achieve.

The APRC looked after me very well.

Flash Back: July 22nd, 1994. Us military n Gambia military were to hold a joint military exercise the following day Saturday July 23rd, 1994. Jammeh n co pre-emted the exercise with their own. U know that history. Over the years, i have wondered why no other soldier(s) was able to capitalise on these rare but opportune moments to tell Jammeh bye bye? It takes me back to one thing; Jammeh seemed to be the only man with guts in the entire GNA

Finally..if you should see Lawrence of Arabia..in white robes riding a camel down Independence Drive....leading the charge for black freedom.

Regretably.. it won't be me.

Well Muzungu, that said it all that, our proposed meeting you want to arrange on your own interlligence way will not be as soon as you are expecting it, Bcoz you've here reject my suggestion on it.
The little experience I got during my trothing in the White-world taught me !
Since traveling is another way of education in one's life.

That is why by then when you ask the Fulaani People why you are not educated? They will just answer you in a simple was like this: ME JANGAANI KONO ME DOWTI
Meaning I don't read but I've travel alot !
Ask that Ethiopean Fulaani Old Boy, (Halake), He might tell you more on this proverb if he is a real Fulaani !

You seem to be between the Devil and the deep blue sea? Mine Herr Kebba..sire.

Why don't you have a word with your NIA friends and see how much gold they want for Moses {let my people go} Richards?

I have much gold in my saddle bags.

Surely..a highly educated Gambian law man with unimpeachable none negotiable credentials, should be worth a home grown discount?

..And the recipient of Gambia's highest order...no less.

I am not saying Rambo...wasn't worth his remittance.

Or that Lang Tang Tomboy..should be discriminated against just for lack of ready cash...

Finally..if you should see Lawrence of Arabia..in white robes riding a camel down Independence Drive....leading the charge for black freedom.

Regretably.. it won't be me.

hut ! hut ! hut !

It would be nice to meet up someday.

Well Toubaabu-Man, Meeting will Lalo Kebba will not be as soon as you are expecting it, Since Arafang Yahya is predicting to rule the Gambia for 40 good Years and you will not be convince to go there during his rulling, but if you prefer it to be soon, then start to bribe the N.I.A Because Kambi Bolong will be the best place of our meeting since I've already put a self imposed sanction on my humble-self in "Wazungu-land"
