Senegal Under -17 gets Presidential treatment
Monday, 22 November 2010 15:40

In many forums in Dakar, the qualification of the Under -17 is hot debate, not only because it is the first time, also because it is seen by many as the dawn of a new era in Senegalese football. ''The Lion family have rejuvenated and given birth to new cubs,'' screamed the headlines in many dailies in Dakar.
The Lions Cubs now join their brothers and African champions the Baby Scorpions, who are now going for a possible hat-trick of trophies in the competition. Senegal is also behind Gambia in terms of money for the squad; all Gambian players and officials of the Algeria tourney have become millionaires, thanks to President Jammeh. ''For once the Lions must learn from the Scorpions the path to success in this project, that is until they meet in Rwanda,'' noted a Gambian fan.
