Saints win Inter-Schools Athletics Championship

By Cherno O BobbSaints Augustine's out-stead Gambia Senior Secondary School to become the 2010 champions of the Trust Bank sponsored Inter-Schools Athletics Championship held at the Independence Stadium over the weekend.
The ever present supremacy of Saints Augustine's in school sports embedded in the school's tradition by Father Joseph Gough, has been glowingly
manifested again when they are crowned champions in the Senior Secondary School category sports championship. Saints took the crown with 362 points beating second place and bitter rivals Gambia Senior by 102 points. Gambia High's 260 points gave them second place ahead of Muslim Senior Secondary whose total was 251 points. Bottrop Senior Secondary in Brikama came fourth with 242 points, while Bansang Senior Secondary School finished fifth position with 113 points.In the Upper basic schools category, the cr own went to Gunjur, who finished one step better than their runner up place last year win by 175 points.
They are followed by, Latrikunda Sabiji Upper Basic School who came second position with a total of 166 points.
Banjulinding claimed third place with 155 points; Pakalinding Upper Basic School emerged fourth position with 118 points, while Bansang Upper Basic School came out fifth position with 111 points.
