Jammeh allegedly sacrifices 11 bulls in Daba Marenah’s home village
Thursday, 02 December 2010 19:21
A clandestine sacrifice done in the behest of President Yahya Jammeh in the town of Kaur has sparked speculations.
The question lingering in many people’s mind in and around Kaur is: ‘Is Daba Marenah’s spirit tormenting President Jammeh?
Kaur Janneh Kunda, one of three major settlements in the town of Kaur, is the birth place of Daba Marenah, the former director of NIA who disappeared alongside four other army officers accused of involvement in the 2006 abortive coup.
According to a presidential statement, Daba and co escaped during a prison transfer from Mile II in Banjul to Janjanbureh Central Prison in the Central River Region. That statement said the vehicle in which the detainees were been transported crashed in to a ditch and nearly somersaulted, leading to their fleeing.
Given the history of the government in handling dissent, it is strongly believed among the Gambian populace that those men were in fact summarily executed. The silence of the family members who continue to mourn undercover the absence of their loved ones reinforces this theory.
Reports have it that Gambian President Yahya Jammeh sent Imam Fatty to Kaur Janneh Kunda to give out a charity of eleven bulls on Friday, 25 November 2010.
The State House Imam and his delegation were received by the Imam of Kaur Janneh Kunda, where Mr Fatty told villagers what his mission was.
A total of 35 people were selected to recite the Quran 15 times, as directed by the State House Imam. Each of these people reportedly received D1000 for participating in the recitation. All others who witnessed the occasion were also reportedly given D300 each. People from Janneh Kunda, Wharf Town, Touray Kunda and suburbs, such as Kerr Maila, Simbara, Jimbala, etc were also said to be in attendance.
According to reports, Fatty told the people of Kaur that Yahya Jammeh had sent him to share the meat of the bulls scarified in their village because he (Jammeh) was directed to do so at the Kaur Janneh Kunda mosque. The State house Imam however failed to tell the people of Kaur what the charity was all about.
This development has raised eyebrows, sparking speculation that the charity was not given for God’s sake, that it might have certain personal interest.
"If the charity was meant for God’s sake, there are many communities that deserve it. Why Kaur Janneh Kunda specifically?” a Janneh Kunda native who prefers anonymity asked this reporter.

There’s NO charity that deceives the Almighty Allah: yaya can sacrifice all the bulls in Gambia & Cassamance combined for that matter to NO avail, because Marenah’s not the only murdered victim of the Kanilai-Cannibal. Moreover, I wonder what he sacrifices he would for the tormenting spirits ALL Gambians & non citizens’ who are being wronged repeatedly EVERY second, minute, hour, day & night of under his despicable grip at the helm??? God Almighty, have the final word on the eternal sacrifices of yaya’s head as compensation for Gambians & genuine friends’ sufferings at yaya’s hand.
But the thing is that they want him that leaving the power, to enjoy like JJ Rawling and what ATT (Ahmad Tumani Touray) is enjoying today in Mali-Ba.
In the serive of Africa I remain
If you think Gambians are not capable of doing the same to you Mr.Jammeh, well you better think again. All you Jujus and Marabouts will not save you at that hour.
