More protest against Libyan air strikes planned in Senegal
Sunday, 03 April 2011 18:53
PANA - The Senegalese Association for friendship and solidarity with the Libyan people is to organise a protest in Dakar
Wednesday against the continuing air strikes in Libya. Chairperson of the Association El Hadj Moustapha Cisse told journalists here Saturday that if the demonstration was not authorised by local authorities, they would hold a sit-in in order to denounce the bombing.

"Libya is a sister nation of Senegal," said Cisse, who noted that the bombings against Libya constitute an aggression.
"Libyan leader Kadhafi is not a tyrant but a committed African nationalist. He did everything for the setting up of the African Union," the former diplomat told reporters.
The Association plans to urge Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade to contact the Chairman of the African Union Commission (AU) and the Secretary General of the Arab League to push for an end to the bombing.
The association comprises members of Muslim religious brotherhood families and cultural associations, Arabic university graduates, Muslim youths, students from the University of Pire (Northern Senegal), women, preachers, imams andjournalists.
A few days ago, a similar protest rally was held in Dakar by several organisations.
