Well done Pa Mbai's Freedom, Fatou's Maafanta and Chams' Jollofnews
Friday, 09 July 2010 18:24
Dear Editor,May I take this opportunity to second Mr. Baldeh's sentiments below and also extend the congratulations to the sister Gambian web-sites at Maafanta and Jollofnews who are doing a good journalistic job of informing those of us in the Diaspora of news back in The Gambia. When one looks at these websites it is quite clear that they are all run by seasoned and dedicated
journalists and, even where I may disagree with them, it is quite clear that they are doing a very good job with dedication and commitment. May I take this opportunity to also praise the exceptional knowledge and historical insight of AMNA at Maafanta, and the brilliance of SUNKANU - it is always a pleasure to read you both. Pa Mbai and colleagues please keep up the good work and maintain the journalistic standard. Thank you again, and may we all pray for and wish The Gambia and its people well.Dida Jallow-Halake.
Here is the piece from Freedom:-
"Freedom Newspaper Hailed
Mr. Baldeh hailed the Freedom Newspaper staffers for their determination in holding the Jammeh administration to account. He said he is very proud of the Freedom Newspaper—most importantly its editor Pa Nderry M’Bai whom he described as a true son of The Gambia. He said Mr. M’Bai devotes his time, energy and money to educate Gambians and friends of The Gambia. Baldeh said Gambians should support the Freedom Newspaper as the paper is fair and balanced in its reportage of national matters. He called on the Freedom Editors to keep up the good work. He said the paper should not at any given time compromise its balanced reporting. He said the paper should strive for accurate, reliable, and objective reporting."
