Wednesday, 26 January 2011 12:35
FNA - Iranian Health Minister Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi announced on Monday that the country’s experts will cure 100
patients infected with the HIV virusVahid Dastjerdi made the remarks in a meeting with Advisor to Guinea-Bissau President in Economic and Investment Affairs Aboubakr Dambadaha here in Tehran today.
Dastjerdi further underlined Iran has the capability to produce a major parts of its needs to drugs, and said, “96% of the medicines are produced inside the country and we import just 4% of (our needs) from abroad.”
During the meeting, Dambadaha stressed his country’s enthusiasm for using Iran’s experiences in different fields of health and medicine, and demanded Iran to set up a medicine-production plant in his country.
Iranian scientists in 2007 found a safe and effective cure for the dreaded virus, AIDS. This medicine made up of herbal and chemical components is said to work to build immunity and enhance the quality of life of both AIDS and HIV-positive patients with no proven side effects.

Vahid Dastjerdi announced earlier this month that the country plans to introduce five new biotechnology medicines to the market next month.
“5 new Iranian biotechnology medicines will enter the drug market during this year’s Ten-Day Dawn (from February 1 to 11, celebrating the victory of the Islamic Revolution back in 1979) ceremonies,” she told reporters at the time. by an Iran-made drug named Imod.

Science against "myths" anyday.
May be,it is a mere coincidence that Iran chose a country named Guinea(1st part of Guinea pig)
Whether its mistranslation or not,the Guinean authorities should make sure that they do not raise the hopes of desperately ill patients only to be used as guinea pigs.
