Wednesday, 26 January 2011 18:20
The International Olympic committee IOC, in an apparent response to news of the recent arrest and trial of the GNOC top brass, has warned
it will not tolerate any outside interference in the election process and/or in the GNOC’s internal affairs and operations. This was contained in a letter addressed to the Interim GNOC chief Beatrice Allen. In the letter, the IOC threatened that any election not conducted under the jurisdiction of Mrs Allen would not be recognized. Read the full IOC statement by clicking here.

be more important than the interest of our dear nation. A Sport Minister who thinks he is more powerfull than the National Assembly or even the President of the Gambia who appointed him in the first place, exercising due diligence and common sense would have earned him much respect. His arrogance has brought shame to the hlgh office of secretary of State. With the added national embarrassment for the poor performance of the junior national football team in the under-17 African cup, the best thing he can do to restore the dignity of all Gambians is to resign.
