By Yaya DamphaThe Director of Programmes of the Banjul-based Africa in Democracy and Good Governance (ADG), Mr Edwin Nebolisa Nkakaeme, has been given an ‘‘impossible’’ bail condition of 10 Million dalasis, according to sources.
Mr Nkakaeme was reportedly requested to provide as bail conditions two Gambian sureties with landed properties valued at 5 million dalasi each. This, sources added, the accused has not been able to meet, and he is therefore languishing in jail.
A Nigerian, the accused is standing trial for giving ‘false information.’ He is expected to reappear in court on Thursday, 15 April 2010 as his case couldn’t proceed on the 22nd and 24th of last March due to reported ill health of the prosecution.
