Ghana to organise funeral rites for citizens murdered in the Gambia

The Ministry of Foreign Affaires and Regional Integration of Ghana,
in collaboration with stakeholders is organizing a State-assisted funeral for the Ghanaian victims of the July 2005 killings in the Gambia on Friday, December 10, Ghana News Agency reported.A statement issued by the Ministry in Accra on Tuesday said the funeral would be held for the eight corpses brought to Ghana as well as those missing and presumed dead and thereafter appropriate compensation would be paid to family members.
"It is worth noting that the Government of the Gambia has done much to express regret for this unfortunate development which took place on its soil and has contributed significantly both in cash and in kind to the arrangements put in place to bring a fitting end to this tragic episode", the statement said.
It added that the funeral will be held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, to be followed by interment at the Osu Cemetery. "The Government of Ghana remains committed to the resolution of this matter in an expeditious and respectful manner in order to bring closure to this tragic incident", it said.

It was NOT Government of Gambia BUT Yaya jammeh who acted unilaterally while hiding behind the seat of power, instructing his murderous agents to murder poor innocent souls. True SANE Gambians do NOT murder humans. Ghana MUST NOT assume this was a ‘one of’ incident. The murderous tyrant got a blatant HABIT to kill for FUN.
