Gambia’s electoral chief Writes to New York rights group

Dear Mr. MballowI acknowledge receipt of your letter in which you expressed your organisation's desire to participate in the general voter registration exercise and to vote in the forthcoming elections.
The IEC would be very much obliged to extend its activities in the diaspora, but due the lack of funds, I regret to inform you that the Commission will not be able to do so this time.
However, in future Gambians in the diaspora will be considered.
