Jammeh's Addiction to ‘Marabousm’ and Shrines, He is not Invincible

SuntouUDP Kombo South members are alarmed at the bribes going around in the ancient Village of Gunjure. Yahya Jammeh has strike again. He bribed the old decent village 5million Dalasis towards dismantling their long standing Mosque for a new one. Yahya over the past days slaughtered over 40 sheep and cows in the village shrine. Gambians should say no to corrupt wealth in Building Mosques.
The site by the Gunjure river where the late Amadou Taal is said to have rested is now the main focal point for Yahya Jammeh. UDP supporters were Suntoubewildered when the Friday prayers was unnecessarily delayed for over an hour because the President notified the villagers that, he will perform the prayer with them. Surprisingly, his motorcade passed by the waiting villagers in a flash toward the Shrine.
The D5Million Dalasis handed to the elders is said to be for the construction of a mosque, however, the elders are reluctant to demolish the old Mosque. The ill-gotten wealth should not be use for the mosque construction. Every keen observer is bewildered as to why, the President is paying so much attention to the village. UDP supporters are worried that, the big promises, frequent slaughtering of animals and cash gifts are all geared towards buying votes before the election.
Gunjure is a respectable settlement in the Kombos, they have a lot at stake if they allowed the President to use them for his short term political gains. It is high time the natives of Gunjure outside the country play their part is alerting the people to the plots being hatch by the double dealing President. His crimes are disguised with the pretence of benevolence and kind gifts. Gunjure don't need corrupt wealth from anyone let alone the President. All those so-called religious leaders parading with Yahya have betrayed their roles and duty, people should see them as sell outs in the Islamic scholarly tradition.
The shrine is use by those who believe it accord them blessings, however, the President shouldn't hijack the Place for his personal political gains. Not everyone in Gunjure take the Shrine as sacred place, but those who do should not be restricted because the President wants to take ownership of the place. Kombo pose a great threat if they vote in numbers against the government, we hope that, they contribute in bringing to an end the repressive regime of Yahya Jammeh. No village should be available for sale.

Interesting comentaries.

Most of my good memories of Gambia, center around the school and the football pitch. The "smiling" villigers, the children..the soccer tournaments...the dancing all night..the natural wells, the traditional practices and the cheerie hard working people..so friendly and respectful. Small children following the car..shouting Toubab ! Toubab !

Gunjurians..are the original African's.

Un spoilt..peaceful and content.

They cannot be bought by Jammeh or anyone else...or bagained with for votes.

Strategically...Gunjur is almost a separtate state, filled with proud and intelligent citizens.True to God and to each other.

I would go so far as to say...Gunjur is the true Gambia.

It remains independant in mind and in spirit...and does not suffer political fools gladly.

God Bless them all.

So where is your respect for the Gunjurians?
Are you not implying here that the people of Gunjur are not capable of thinking and deciding for themselves?

That their relatives abroad should decide what party (preferably for you, the UDP)they should be affiliated to? ..."democracy", ah?

That they have no dignity, and can be "bought" with 5 million dalasis?

If you really want the Gunjurians not take money or other gifts from the president, then you must tell the sons and daughters of Gunjur in Abroad to provide the necessary materials and funds for them. The government is always a second factor when it comes to regional integration. If you don't want the government to clean the road that passes in front of your house, then clean it before they get there.

God’s VERY patient; & mysteriously watch ALmunafiq/s work tirelessly to prepare their own final resting place/s in Hell-fire! NO worship/s in reputable Gunjur, NEITHER in Great Al-Kaaba, NOR even @ the Holly Prophet’s (SAW) resting place, CAN prevent yaya’s inevitability. Sacred Gunjur unfortunately, like any other communities, also has some people, tempted with material gains, prone to predators, most of which, are in fact our own money; with time, yaya will know, God rewards for every deed, good/bad; accordingly
