- family alleges she is being heldBy Yusupha Cham
Wonto Dampha, an agent of Gambia’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has gone missing and is believed to have been detained at the headquarters of the very agency she works for, family sources told JollofNews Tuesday.
According to the source, Wonto, a female agent, was picked up about two weeks ago and as usual nothing has been heard about her since. ''We
have tried all means even using her own colleagues to find access to her but to no avail as even her colleagues fear reprisals should they disclose information on her,” the source said. “But we know very well that she is being held at the NIA in Banjul'.Wonto Dampha hails from Jarra Pakalinding and has been an NIA operative for some time now.
''We call on human rights and civil society organizations as well as the media to highlight her case before she disappears forever,'' appealed a tearful brother to the disappeared agent.

NIA agents missing; a case of taste of own medicine? All will drink from Yaya jammeh’s poisonous concoctions UNLESS he’s removed by all means immediately; tyranny knows no boundaries, neither foe nor crony & not even the elements mobilised/utilised to facilitate/perpetuate sufferings of fellow humans within yaya jammeh’s devilish grasps. It’s time ALL unite, Gambian & otherwise to get rid of yaya jammeh soonest. We may be adamant for now; but as the rescue of the Chilean miners, hope’s on the horizon; together we CAN & WILL succeed; together the Gambian opposition MUST unite right now for our peaceful salvation.
No humor intended here!
What has Jammeh turned us into? The above post is only meant to be humorous, of course we don't want to see anyone detained unjustly, NIA or not!
