Gambian man who stabbed wife to death in UK commits suicide

fatou_saineBy Yusupha Cham
The husband of the Gambian woman, Fatou Saine, who was stabbed to death in the UK at a newsagent on June 1, 2010 has taken his own life behind bars.
Sheikh Saine, 43, hugged shop worker Fatou Saine before repeatedly knifing her with an eight-inch blade at McColl's in St Enoch Square,fatou_saine Glasgow.
He was found hanged in his cell in E Hall, the protection wing, at the city's Barlinnie prison last Tuesday.
He had been charged with murdering his wife in June this year and was on remand.
A jail source told the UK Daily record: "Saine couldn't face life behind bars. All the cons were out to get him and called him a monster for what he'd done.
"He was wracked with guilt and obviously decided to take the easy way out. He was found when the cells were opened up and the screws had to cut him down."

Is a lesson every African should learn from because committing suicide is not in the African man's blood nor in the blood of our females too !
So let us recall back our minds that whereever we live in this mundane world, we will always and ever remain Africans !

In her service I remain

I do hope the prison authorities conduct a searching enquiry as to the cirumstances that lead to this suicide and how is was allowed to happen.
I Too would like to offer my sincere condolancies to the family and friends of both victims. The UK can be a very stressful enviroment for immigrants. Our authorities do tend to despatch their responsibilitie s without taking due account of the isolation and vulnerability of those "trading" in a foriegn land.

We must look closer at what we are doing?

Very sad.

It is very sad that an incident of this kind can happen to very young people who were legally married. I hope those Gambians living in the same community try to bring about Peace within their own community as Gambians.

Dear Editor
I am really disheartened by this tragidy. God knows why it happaned specially from a very peace loving man. Sheikh is a brother and well known to me. He has been ever known to be peaceful, intellegent humble and respectful since childhood up to the date i read this nightmare. This is real work of the devil. Whatever i wish this never happen to him and pray for God's forgiveness for him

All the tragedies mentioned aboved are not the nature of a gambian.
Lost of life in both ways are sad more over if attributed to a folk known for it´s peaceloving chracters.
I send my condolence to both families.
