Gambian government hikes fuel price

fuel_station_gas_nozzleThe pump price for refined petrol has been increased from D33 per liter to D38 Gambian Dalasis (D) per liter - (about D29 = US$ 1) - with effect from 9 June, Gambia's Economic and Finance Ministry said in a statement, received here by PANA Tuesday.
According to the statement, the pump price for diesel has also been raised from D32 per liter to D33 per liter, while the price of kerosene, which attracts low demand in the Gambia, remained pegged at D26.
Meanwhile, the government has urged oil companies, retailers and other dealers in the Gambia 'to comply' with the stipulated prices.

Disclaimer!

Comment no.12 is work of the criminal righteousness calling himself jammeh 4 life & all others names here. I believe all can tell/know whenever he opens his lips on empty brain & post comments either in impersonation mostly of my humble self/in his numerous names. One thing is clear, all shows the same distaste. I believe you all can tell when I post a comment & when someone criminalises another as has been on few cases here. I thank you all.

Compare this trash with the latest news from Senegal and tell me what justifies it or why I shouldn't question the rationale of my idiotic government...

Od dear! Kafuta,
Now give us a break and stop pretending. You are not criticising Jammeh "for Gambia" but for your own ego. Your cannot mention Jammeh once without using abusive language, and you want to tell us you are doing that "for Gambia"? The animorsity you habour reveals your true colours. Period! Fool yourself but don't try to insult our intelligence, that would be very rude.

As a matter of fact he is working for me as a servant; i am not supposed to praise him...If you choose to be slaves, its your choice, because I do not choose that and I refuse to recognise his good deeds I am not wishing good fo rthe country? Rediculous! One thing is for sure, and that is that I luv Gambia jsut like any other Gambian who aims good for the country, nothing can take that fact, nothing! So, say what you have to say; think what you feel like...

Here they go, just as I predicted, blindly defending the indefensible; pointing at the woes of other countries to defend the blunders of this bunch of holligans holding the Gambian people to ransome. Who said if Nigeria, an OPEC member, has shortages of fuel Gambia should expect the same thing? As a matter of fact shortage of fuel in Nigeria has been a commonplace for a long time now. It has to do with the recklessness of the government of Nigeria. But could we point at that to justify our own tyranical government's lackadesical attitude?
And Sanchaba, who talked about queues and shortages?
There is another empty headed fool decreeing that no one has the right to criticise the government all the time. What kind of people are some of you who claim to be Gambians? It is not my place to point at the good things of Yaya Jammeh, I leave that to the butt lickers; my place is to highlight his stupid actions to force him to work responsibly...

Sera you have closed the subject.. i am very satisfied with your comment... its makes sense ...definately being opposition does not give u the right to oppose every action by the Goverment.. there are certain macro issues beyond the control of the Gambia Government or other African countries... Besides that Petrol is still cheaper in Gambia than most if not almost all Sub Saharan countriues
