Gambia, US Move to Increase Trade and Investment
Sunday, 25 September 2011 12:04
(PANA) - The Gambia and America have moved to increase trade and investment, leading to the launching of the African
Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Resource Centre in the tiny West African nation, PANA reported Saturday.According to official sources, the US Embassy in Banjul and Gambia’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA) and Trade Ministry launched the centre.
AGOA is a mechanism geared towards increasing trade and investment-related opportunities between America and eligible countries in Africa.
Its proponents say it will contribute to promoting sustainable economic growth and the pace of overall development in the benefitting African nations.
The centre, which is the first of its kind in the Gambia, will provide technical assistance to businesses in the country about information on US markets, trade shows among others.

The top priority for Africa is energy.
The Gambia's soil is very fertile. But it does require, fertiliser. The nearest sourse is Togo.
There are several "weeds" that attack your crops. But there are potent and harmless..ways to negate these.
Hence your President's call for help in weeding.
The groundnut is not the highest quality and it does contain alfa toxin.
But this is eradicated at the processing stage.
The Gambia needs to introduce a more resistant and better Groundunt.
Reprocessing "in house" is a way to increase..resale value tremendously.
The Gambia is capable of introducing a Bio Mass..energy generating system...that produces energy by burning Miscanthus.
The Gambia can grow Miscanthus..but it requires thousands of acres..given over to growing this.
A biomass plant costs around a million pounds and can power a small town.
$8,000 {Eight thousand} dollars worth of exports to the US.
The main currency exchange...between these two great nations...is the Gambia's exiled journalists, interlectuals and freedom seekers.
No doubt the US has profitted immensly from Gambia's loss.
I don’t know if your analyses are right but all I know is human right and freedom of speech is just for countries which disagree to dance to their tune. Give them what they want and you can even dance at the White House.
Suffice is it to say that you will not be seeing any American businesses investing in Gambia. The US Embassy itself always warns American investors about the dangers of investing in Gambia.
US increases Trade and Investment Opportunities.....
In the face of worsening human rights and other abuses in The Gambia.....
Coincidence or Not....
