Gambia to seize multi-million dollar Libyan assets

Moamer_Gadhafi(AFP) - The Gambian high court on Monday granted an application allowing the government to seize millions of dollars worth of Libyan assets in the tiny west African country.
Judge Awa Bah ruled that the Gambian goverment can take immediate possession and control of the Libya African Investment Company "until a government recognized by the United Nations is in place in Libya".Moamer_Gadhafi
While the assets were not named in court, the investment company owns a multi-million dollar five-star hotel, the Jerma Beach, the Laico Atlantic Hotel in the capital, Banjul, said to be worth $18 million (12 million euros), and Dream Park, a children's amusement park.
"The court is convinced that the Libyan African Investment Company (Gambia) Limited is a creation of the Moamer Kadhafi-led government," Bah said.
"There is an urgent need to put in place interim measures to safeguard the assets and properties of the said company situated in The Gambia for the interest and benefit of the Libyan people."
Banjul last month said it was recognising the rebel Transitional National Council as the only legitimate body representing Libyan interests, and expelled Tripoli's diplomats while freezing all Libyan assets.

Quoting Mike Scales:
Cum now Batch....please describe in your own words...what was this debate about?

For I have tried to understand ..but cannot find any thread?

You are the only one who is lost here because of your flip-flapping, or may I say, your attempt to deviate from the issue when pushed to a corner.

You see why I asked you to focus....?

Over & out on this one!

Quote Batch Jallow “...Muamar Gadafi once told Yahya Jammeh in 1999 that"my brother,as from today, you are a Libyan"...”

Comment (IF YOU ARE THE APRC-BATCH)

Bro Batch, how come then, now, yaya instead, turned round on ‘old bro Gadafi’, who made him Libyan, as in story? What assurances are in place, for the ‘ceased/frozen assets’ to be returned to the legitimate owners?? how sure are we that these businesses, & profits generated, will all be honestly handed over, at time of handing??? Evidences of the act will be keenly followed up, by the readership & Libyan people in particular; yaya can know the world’s watching. How’s he better than Gadafi, when innocent defenceless students were killed in April 2000?

Truth be told,Mike Scales has lost this debate. One should always be ready to answer your own question if it is sent back to you.Mike was not expecting to answer the question in a more complex form.Mr.Soriba has no doubt won this debate.Gambians call you brother Mike and Libyans call us Brothers and sisters of Libya. If you blend with Gambians without any questions, you shouldn't ask questions about Gambians blending with another nationality.Muamar Gadafi once told Yahya Jammeh in 1999 that"my brother,as from today, you are a Libyan".That was why the Gambians decided to go there and live like Libyans.

Thankyou Mr Soriba for your limited knowledge of this tea total, christian...with a great affection for Islam.

I am still basking in Mr Bayang's analogy that I am a

"Child of The Universe"

Space..The final frontier.

Perhaps I shall boldly go where no man has gone before.?

To explore the "space" between the "great" Soriba's ears.

For it appears a strange dark planet full of mystery.

I have always thought the snake was a noble and enigmatic creature...given more to defence than attack.

But you wouldn't want to step on its tail?

Well Mr Soriba...If you want to spend your life setting traps...then go ahead.

You seem so confused...perhaps you have fallen into your own trap..and now want to scream "Uncle"

By all means support President Jammeh and the APRC...I admire you for that.

I have always given support to The Gambian people...It is you who want to draw boundaries....I like to cross boundaries. The APRC like the UDP have some fine people.
