Gambia releases jailed British missionary
Saturday, 11 September 2010 17:10
The BBC today cited a Foreign Office confirmation that the Scottish man has been freed after serving his sentence.

David Fulton and his wife Fiona Rachel were early in December 2008 charged with jointly printing, distributing, and reproducing seditious publications with intent to bring hatred or contempt, to incite disaffection against the President and the Government of The Gambia.
The Banjul Magistrates Court heard bizarre accounts of emails the couple sent back to Britain giving funny description of the relationship between Christians and Muslims in a Muslim dominated country. Some of their emails were also critical of President Yahya Jammeh and his government.
They were subsequently sentenced to a one-year jail term with hard labor after pleading guilty.
Later in March 2009, David was re-arraigned and sentenced to a three-year mandatory jail term after been slammed with two additional charges of forgery and impersonation. He pleaded guilty to Forgery.
Fiona Fulton was released in December 2009, and her 61-year-old husband was freed last Friday.
