Gambia Olympic officials charged with theft

AFP — Three leading members of Gambia's national Olympic Committee (GNOC) including its president, Beatrice Allen, have been arrested and charged
with theft.Allen, the GNOC's acting president and International Olympic Committee member, GNOC treasurer Ousman Wadda and accounting officer Muhammed Janneh were detained on Friday.
The trio are accused of embezzling GNOC funds amounting to 1,000 euros.
Allen and her co-accused appeared in court here on Saturday without making a plea.
They are being held in custody until Monday when the case is expected to resume.
