Gambia lost 5-1 to Mexico‏

gam_vs_mexThe Gambia lost 5-1 to Mexico in friendly Sunday played in Germany. In the absence of the American Scorpions Paul Put fielded a team around the Europe based players which included Modou Ceesay. The Gambians stared an attack minded first quarter with Njoou Demba coming close to getting the first goal of the match'  But when the Mexicans began their game the proved to be the superior side for muchgam_vs_mex of the match. Their goal harvest began when Hernandez collected the ball from a mal back pass by Ebrima Sohna. The Mexican barely pushed the ball pass Dembo Touray. The Gambian keeper was to be pressured again in just a few minutes as he fumbled a free kick but luckily regained control to catch in the nick of time off the feet of a racing Mexican. Nothing could stop  Hernadez though as he once again exploited and other sloppy defending to get goal number two'
Ous Jallow could have cancel that first  goal as he raised  alone towards the Mexican area only to be blocked before he could aim a shot. A few moments later Momodou ceesay missed chance for a glancing header in the near post.
The second half began with an inspired Scorpions, attacking and maintaining a fighting spirit .Their effort were rewarded moment came in the 20th minute when Ebrima Sohna redeemed himself from his goal giving  error despatch a swinging header from a corner to make it 3-1.
Paul Put sent it Babaye, Samba and Darboe to strengthen the team but the Mexicans never relent in their grip of the match as Gautista went ahead to score two gaols before handing over to Medina who complete a good night for Mexico who had earlier lost to Holland and England.
