Gambia gov’t urged to guarantee safety of journalists

Mr. Igwe was speaking in Banjul on Sunday during the opening ceremony of the Forum on the Participation of NGOs to the 48th session of the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights due to open in Banjul next week.
He urged the government to see journalists as partners in development rather than as enemies.
