According to the Gambian Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources, Lamin Kabba Bajo, during the meeting, taking place from 20-23
September, 2010, the African ministers will focus on important issues such as policy and governance reforms necessary for the sector to generate wealth for the African people. The minister disclosed this when he closed a meeting of directors of fisheries and aquaculture at Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi, some 20 kilometres from Banjul this morning.
Bajo told a meeting of directors of fisheries and aquaculture at Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi, some 20 kilometres from Banjul that the pan-African forum will be jointly organized with the AU Commission.
“We are esp
ecially aware of the strong challenges to be faced in the struggle to ensure that the precious fisheries resources of the sub-region are well conserved and protected,” Bajo said. The minister also alluded to the enormous financial, human, material and physical costs associated with the control, monitoring and surveillance activities in the sector. He said genuine cooperation among ECOWAS member states and the support of development partners is necessary to overcome these strong challenges.

Jim-jammeh 4liffe–original righteousness, Gambian... err, your names sound like just your master yahya Jammehian; The truth’s, as an NIA informer you already ‘have’ a trade to feed your family but do you realise it’s at the detriment of other families & communities at large through implication & oppression of innocent divergent opinionated masses? The garden you mention.., probably in yaya’s Kanilai farm? Your true colours were indicated since at on set; for I mistook you as an impatient/intolerant debater in search of genuine solutions. So I don’t waste valuable time to respond lately. God knows everyone’s intention hidden/clear & will reward accordingly. Forward Gambia.
Lamin I agree with you 1000% Let the Bajaw's and co. come home and fight their war. I will be in my garden thinking of how to feed my family... the day that the almighty calls for change , there will be change until then,,bye bye....because that is the only change that will be a success..if u dare me try and u will find yourselve where u ought not to be
Guinea Conakry has done it & almost there; after over 50 years crawling on their 'side of democracy'. We spent over a decade & half under same/worst than them under our self-proclaimed Sakou Toure impersonator; only that in his case/instance, he's more miraculous than Toure himself whom others claimed had jinn-wife who alternate with his other human wives & inform the leader of impending issues? Well that was then & this is now, today; which's the reality & must be faced; to save our frowned-coast from decadence. Come together now to go through this election together.
...If he falters, it affects all; this is where it becomes everyone’s issue, hence the advices & ‘bad’ opinions as some would want to believe. The issue of state concerns all but takes wisdom to stir. Yaya got to change for better or go, if not, get pushed. Either ways Gambian masses will win eventually.
Note: Am also bit tight, on family event; might not readily respond but debate’s on-going as jollof’s here to stay. We’ll surely get answers & rekindle the smile in the face that’s frowned lately.
Lamin, you got sense of humour but unfortunately yaya, our current leader, don’t seem to have this great gift of humanity & doesn’t think in your line of thought. Recall his tirades of abusive words to the Imams & opinion leaders on their annual & periodic visits to state house to ‘infer wisdom’ on him as head of state on current & burning issues & tell me who in Gambia escapes yaya’s brunt of arrogance? What’s the point of Imams, grannies & dads, to us all in Gambia, including yaya, be subjecting themselves to? Hence some of them resorted to sending representatives /claim for one excuse to another when absent on some of the events. The purpose of such gathering was adopted since last leadership for exchanges between those elders & leaders with incumbent head to infer wisdom on issues of matter. Head of state, got to be advised on issues as him alone has the mantle to stir ship of state; rightly.
