Gambia enforces anti-tobacco law

Police_PROSulayman Secka, the Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force, said from 1 October, the country’s various security agencies would jointly start implementing the anti-public smoking act, PANA reported from here Thursday. Secka made the announcement while addressing a press conference organized by the police force in collaboration with thePolice_PRO country’s social and health department, along with other anti-tobacco bodies.
Gambian Parliament in July 1998 enacted anti-public smoking law, which was later signed by President Yahya Jammeh in September of the same year.
The law, among other things, banned tobacco-smoking in public places and also defined what is meant by public place as well as penalties for those found wanting.
Even though the law was passed over a decade ago, it is yet to be implemented and many people continue to openly puff tobacco products about in many public places like schools, cars and markets in the Gambia.

Because of all these advantages the electronic cigarette has developed through the use of technology, a truly outstanding alternative to smoking is now available to any smoker ready for something new.

When shall the police ask our ferry Boys to fix Air conditions at the passengers waiting Halls than that of their offices which, without the fares of those honorable passengers they will never ever be in those cool offices !

I think the police of the Gambia are doing well but on this and wishing them all the best in their Job !

But Mr. Secka,
When shall you try to convince your prestigious government for her to talk to the Ferry Boys & Girls to try to fix AC (Air condition) for their passengers at the Ferry crossings all over the country before venturing on those smoking within the public there ?
When you can find them in their offices full condition while passengers money is comforting their offices for them !

In the service of the Gambia I renmain
