annual African Liberation Day celebrations is pleased to announce that the greatest African Soccer player, native son of The Gambia and former Servilla (European powerhouse) player, Alhagi Momodou Njie Biri Biri will be our special Guest of Honor at this year’s festivities.
In appreciation of over three decades of Biri's great services to our country as an active national team player and the country's football Ambassador, the G.A.A. will award this legendary sportsman with a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
As the first African to play football professionally in Denmark and in Spain, Biri's contribution to spreading the goodwill of Gambia, and African, has been immeasurable. As such the Gambia American Association deems it fitting, and a national obligation, to honor the greatest footballer that ever suited in our national colors.
To this end, we wish to also extend a cordial invitation to every veteran Gambian Footballer residing in the United States and beyond who has had the opportunity to play with or against Alagie Momodou Njie Biri Biri to participate in the Alagie Njie Biri Veterans’ Game which will take place on Sunday 29th May 2011.
