In appreciation of over three decades of Biri's great services to our country as an active national team player and the country's football Ambassador, the G.A.A. will award this legendary sportsman with a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
As the first African to play football professionally in Denmark and in Spain, Biri's contribution to spreading the goodwill of Gambia, and African, has been immeasurable.  As such the Gambia American Association deems it fitting, and a national obligation, to honor the greatest footballer that ever suited in our national colors.

If one comes to know how Roger Miller,George Weah, and Papa Camara just to name a few african football legends are honoured in their countries,u will be frustrated to know that BIRI,the Maradona of Africa and far better than any african footballer up to date is somewhere in the streets of banjul unrecognised,un known, having no notice i can say.
Better late than never but Gambians must do a lot more to let those who deserve it in Politics,Musik, Sports, communit y services, educat ion etc. etc. to be honored.GO! BIRÄI GO!the best african soccerstar.
