Gaddafi Dumped by African Union

(Opinion) - A meeting between four African presidents to discuss dictator Muammar Gaddafi has resulted in their acceptance of a transitional
government in Libya, and the rejection of calls for Gaddafi’s return.Throughout the Libyan conflict, Jacob Zuma of South Africa, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo Brazzaville and Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz from Mauritania had opposed NATO intervention in Libya, and held close to the African Union mantra that Africa must address issues from within Africa.
The four were selected by the African Union peace and security committee to help resolve conflict in Libya.

Mr Museveni and Mr Zuma have been among the most vocal of African presidents against the Libyan war and tried to push for a negotiated settlement between
Col. Gaddafi and the NTC throughout the period the Western military alliance, NATO, bombed Tripoli and provided air support to the rebels fighting to topple his 42-year tyranny.The two leaders were mostly ignored by a Western coalition that was determined the world had seen enough of the authoritarian colonel, who at the beginning of the fighting declared an intention to commit widespread killings if that is what it would take to retain his grip on power.
The AU has so far been one of the few international organisations that have withheld recognition of the NTC – on the grounds that it was NATO which supported the overthrow of Col. Gaddafi, and in so doing interfered in Libya’s internal affairs. As a result, sharp divisions have emerged among African governments as some like Nigeria and Botswana quickly recognised the NTC as the legitimate government while Uganda, South Africa and others have not.
Farewell, Old Friend
Gaddafi’s former friends have abandoned him. The Lion of Africa has lost his pride, and is now being hunted like a mouse. It’s just a matter of time before Gaddafi, a former chairperson of the African Union in his heyday, is brought to justice by the same people whom he used to terrorise.

But come now...
Paris has been the capital of female fashion for decades.
They dictate each year how high the skirt should be above the knee or how deep the female neckline should be.
I can only imagine the Burka presents a significant challenge to Coco Channel and Christian D'or.

I agree with you and will make that 99.9% of people do not want another Adolf Hitler.
But it takes only ONE ELECTION and a MAD MAN/WOMAN assuming office and the whole political scene can change dramatically.
If anyone needs proof just take France as an example.
France is a country that cherishes FREEDOM OF CHOICE but not many battered an eyelid when the wearing of the Islamic Bhurka in public was banned recently.
Given its long standing relation with, and better understanding of Muslims than any European countries,one can easily see why the curtailment of this fundamental right of Muslim Women is accepted by the French People.
Through repeated and unrelenting demonisation of Muslims and Islam by the media,right wing as well as main stream politicians,pub lic opinion has successfully been turned against Muslims and this action accepted as necessary and justified by many.
That somehow...we humans will treat the past as a foriegn field..where we did things differently.
Tribal culture is not just an ancient African tradition.
We see the American lead satalites..from Germany to Japan reinforce the US role as world policemen...A stark reminder of western global tribalism...underpinned by superior military might and capability.
China and the Far East and South America...have undercut the Wests ability to continue to dominate through greater wealth and economic and manufacturing prowess.
The rich oil gulf states have more liquid capital than the whole of the West.
I believe the only solution for mankind..is to forge a brotherhood of people

I can reassure you that 97% of us...would not raise another Hitler.
We don't need a history lesson to remind ourselves that the conditions of the people ( of Germany & others)at the time,(unemploym ent,economic hardship,rising poverty & hopelessness) which catapulted Hitler & the NAZI Party to power,are a reality for a great majority of people today.
The kind of blame games we see being played out today,whether on the print or electronic media,where everything is blamed on the strange fella next door,(not at Nazi level),is exactly the kind that turned a noble and tolerant German Nation into,perhaps,th e biggest accomplices of mass murder ever seen in modern history.
You only have to listen to radio chat shows,visit some internet sites or read comments on national papers,to see what effect anti-immigrant propaganda is having on public opinion.
If its true that 'History always repeats itself',then Africans,in particular,and all peoples of colour, must be alive to the dangers of another 'ADOLF HITLER' emerging on the political scene of these countries.
For the term 'FAR RIGHT' is nothing but a mask to give political legitimacy to groups whose philosophy is based on NAZISM & FASCISM and whose leaders openly or covertly 'worship' Hitler.
These groups,from little Austria to mighty France,UK & Germany,openly incite violence against immigrants (non-whites)or encourage & condone violent physical attacks against them,sometimes resulting in deaths & destruction of their properties.
However,the Libyan conflict has exposed a disgraceful and shameful truth about our continent's role or rather insignificance in global politics.
Despite the continental body,AU,officia lly rejecting both regime change and military intervention ,the West,through NATO,disregarde d their call and went ahead to enforce their own agenda:THE REMOVAL OF COLONEL GADDAFFI.
Would NATO have disregarded a strong AU with a mighty and strong ARMY,NAVY & AIRFORCE at it's disposal without risking a continental/world war ?
What this conflict has shown is that after almost a century of 'INDEPENDENCE', we are:
*MILITARILY WEAK. * ECONOMICALLY BANKRUPT &POLITICALLY DIVIDED & STILL LEAD BY COPYISTS & IMITATORS.
Enemies take note...do not fly anytime soon.
