Editorial: Exposing the devils!
Monday, 11 October 2010 18:15
Unfortunately, the greater majority of Gambians have unconsciously aided this situation by ignoring these people who continue to perpetuate untold suffering on innocent Gambians. Such is the result of the faith of missing journalist Chief Ebrima Manneh.
“Justice Minister clarifies on missing journalist, others”, reads the Daily Observer’s last Thursday edition, in yet another show of blatant disregard for decency. One wonders if the main problem with that story is the obvious substandard work by the slipshod reporter or the naivety of the National Assembly member whose question raised the foolish response by that clown of a Justice Minister. The fact is that if that one paragraph statement attributed to him regarding Chief Manneh’s disappearance is all that Edward Gomez had to say as clarification, then the National Assembly member concerned ought to reconsider their position - because Gambians would expect better from him than his implicit acceptance of such a feeble and insulting explanation from a corrupted soul wallowing in willful ignorance and wanton greed.
But there is very little doubt that the story is just a typical depiction of the shoddy journalism at the Daily Observer, which was of course very well taken advantage of by the uncredited ‘editor’ and Managing Director, Pa Malick Faye, an insignificant, less known but noxiously mischievous element within the APRC party. This very same Pa Malick is the architect of Chief Manneh’s ordeal. In any case, that story did the only good job of pointing to the callous barbarism of the Gambian government under Yahya Jammeh’s watch, because while there was no clarification whatsoever in it, it rekindles the torturing experience of the family of the detained journalist.
YAHYA JAMMEH’s GOVERNMENT HAS CHIEF MANNEH. PERIOD! This sort of mortifying lies only makes it harder to take anyone associated with this government seriously.
Anyway, at least a few of us could never have been taken by surprise, knowing what the government is capable of. But given the role Pa Malick Faye played in having Chief Manneh disappeared, we are honestly short of words to describe how amazed we really are at this shameful display of his tenacity for deceit and hardheartedness. This is why we need to focus on people like him who do the work of the devil… to tell him that the soul of the human being is more precious than worldly wealth…to let him know that he and his ilk have no place among the civilized society.
Now, we do know, and we have resigned to the fact that anytime we write about people like this we do so at the risk of popularizing them, for we know such publicities come with increased chances of promotions in Banjul these days. And as far as these people are concerned, that is all that matters. But the world needs to know about these people; the world needs to know who these people are and what they stand for, because some day sanity will prevail in that country, and when it does, justice must be seen to be done.
Pa Malick Faye, having served for years without making any headway as the journalist he never
would be, could only get to where he is today by engaging in implicating innocent people. It is no news that he is behind Chief Manneh’s disappearance, together with that cursed character Dr Saja Taal and the dumbest of idiots of our time, Momodou Sanyang. But what is shocking is the thought that under Pa Malick’s watch the Daily Observer could publish such a story.

But what is shocking is the thought that under Pa Malick’s watch the Daily Observer could publish such a story.Again, for some of us there is hardly any news coming out of Gambia today that can surprise us. That is so by virtue of our experiences in the hands of the devils. Injustice is so much abound in Gambia that it has become a problem identifying the oppressor from the oppressed. Like in dictatorships everywhere in the world, the cries for freedom in Gambia today have become so droning that those we cry to no longer appear interested in hearing us.
But this must never be a deterrent for a people who truly believe in the authenticity of their course. This belief is what underpins our judgment of the government in Banjul and its leadership.
But it is not as if we can’t have a way of minimizing the casualties while we look for a lasting resolution. We can, but only if we know our priorities. And that is that Yahya Jammeh must be deprived of the people who carry out his dirty work.
The world needs to know about these people before they turned themselves into the victims…

I guess Yahya Jammeh would say the same thing of Momodou Sanyang - and I do not need to tell you how treacherous the latter is. Except if some reason you didn’t see that. Today, Sanyang is Pa Malick Faye's ally in a plot to undo what they consider as threat to their existence.
People can say they could not talk because they didn’t feel it a wise thing to do while in Gambia, which would be an understandable excuse given the ruthlessness of the system. But what is the excuse of not talking when you are out of Gambia? Except if one is an accomplice in some of the heinous crimes committed against innocent Gambians.
I have tried all I can not to sound vengeful, but as the days go by, I become increasingly convinced that I have to speak my mind just so maybe it could help some how in discouraging people like Pa Malick and Momodou Sanyang from destroying others.
I have to give the "devil" praise where praise is due. Of course, you were my brilliant and able Deputy Editor-in-Chief and I have paid much praise there. I also have to say that Pa Malick Faye WAS indeed honest, loyal and totally supportive of my leadership at the Daily Observer. If I wanted him to jump out of his bed in Lamin in the middle of the night to cover a story, he did. I re-appointed him back to State House (the President got rid of him in 2005) and he did his work well. Even when I was arrested, he saw me at Kanifing Magistrates Court and OFFERED himself and his land as SURETY for my bail (I had someone else and did not take him up on it). While I don't know as much as you do about the ins and outs of the Chief Manneh case, I experience is that Pa Malick worked for me as a loyal and dedicated employee.
Many have wondered why officials like the Vice President have survived for so long. For those on the inside who relly know, the VP was especially instrumental in saving Jammeh's govt from collapse following the student massacre and the total outrage that engulfed the entire country.
This same woman was instrumental in twisting the arms of members of Parliament to indemnify the perpetrators of that heinous act.
You can never be more royal than the king. No one can be more patriotic than Jammeh, not even when you are defending him.
get that Edu and the rest of the hooligans around this idiot of a president.
So, you are right, his acomplices should be exposed. And this dude is a very good example. You can only be suprised by his record if you do not know Pa Malick. Like most people associated with the APRc, the life of this bastard emdodies everything that represent dihonesty. You might want to know that he snatched his wife from his supposed friend who is abroad, because the woman is rich. Tell me, what can Pa Malick not do in this world?
This motherfucking bastard!
