Jollofnews_logoJollofNews - For over a week now we have been receiving email messages and communications via other means from our readers complaining about the increasing difficulty in accessing www.jollofnews.com in the Gambia.
Many of our readers claim they do not access the site at all.Jollofnews_logo
Throughout this period, we have been diligently digging deeper into the matter to ensure that we do not get our facts wrong as to whether the site has been blocked or otherwise. Until now we still can’t say for certain what the actual problem is.
How to access JollofNews in Gambia
However, after thorough consultations, we are delighted to say that we have been able to figure out a way of circumventing this problem, to enable our readers in Gambia who have problem accessing the site on their normal browsers to do so without frustration.
Simply visit the following websites: www.anonymouse.org or www.hidemyass.com and insert in the URL: www.jollofnews.com.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

This is a clear answer, you already should know the answer to this is because Gambia government don't want your online news papers be accessible in The Gambia because they don't like what you produce. So that is the main motive behind all this. The Gambia telecommunicati ons company ltd GAMTEL will do everything the government instruct them to do because they are all bunch of cowards and powerless good citizens who can not refuses the illegal order by the tyrant leader.

It is obvious that if there is a justice, fair play and real democracy in the Gambia, there would not have been any difficulty accessing the net. why its easier faster and even more quicker to visit www.observer.gm, thepoint.gm, bbc.co.uk, cnn.com and why not www.jollofnews.com and freedomnewspape r.com?

Thanks.

I read all the Gambian online papers everyday.

I am having difficulty with access to Jollof...My computer invariably disconnects. But there have been other occaisions when there are difficulties.

Freedom Newspaper....is very very slow

But there site is growing and extremly busy these days.

But Maafanta is fine.

Could you require some refinement with your site/equipment..perhaps?

Have you any needs?

Much obliged.

Mike,
We can't say for certain that jollofnews is blocked in Gambia. However, we do know that very few people access the site there under difficult conditions. Most of our tradditional readers do not at all and we continue to recieve their complaints.
Unfortunately, there can hardly be any way to verify this through the people, if there are any, who might be behind it.
Thanks for your concern, anyway.
