Detained Guinea Bissau Army chief ‘tortured’
Tuesday, 20 April 2010 11:21
By Abdoulie JohnFollowing reports of his ill health, it has emerged that the detained head of Guinea Bissau ’s army, Zamora Induta, in fact underwent torture in the hands of his captors.
According to the Senegalese daily newspaper Le Quotidien (Monday 18th April, 2010) the Guinea Bissau Army Chief of Defense Staff is reported to be vomiting blood after being subjected to torture following his arrest and detention at the Mansoa military airbase on April 1st, 2010.

"Zamora was indeed tortured. He is undergoing torture. We have visited him in his cell at the Mansoa military barracks. He is sick, a little weak. We asked him if he was tortured, he said no. He was not talkative with us, because he is afraid. He has certainly been threatened with death by his torturers," said a member of the League of Human Rights of Guinea Bissau who requested anonymity.
Contacted through telephone by Le Quotidien, a senior officer in Guinea Bissau confirmed: "Zamora Induta is sick. He even vomited blood in his jail cell at the military camp where he is being detained for 19 days. But we'll take him to hospital for him to take x-rays. He was tortured by soldiers (who) want to force him to admit and confirm the charges leveled against him. So far he has refused to talk, to reveal certain things to military investigators. "
In addition, a police source in Guinea Bissau, who is well aware of this issue, said: "Zamora is a victim of a settling of scores within the military in Guinea Bissau. They want him to wear crimes of which he is not the author."
Reacting to this development, Alioune Tine, president of the Dakar based human rights body, Raddho, told Le Quotidien he was very worried and concerned about the health of the former CGS of Guinea Bissau. He went on to urge the government of the coup prone former Portuguese colony for an "immediate judicial inquiry into the alleged tortures that Zamora Induta underwent. We need to put an end to these atrocities. If Zamora dies in prison, we’ll consider this as a murder committed by the current leaders of the Army in Guinea Bissau. They will all be prosecuted for this crime, even if they are not disturbed in their country. "

And many heads do role during those days, so now he is also dancing his tunes, what always disturb me is these socall Human Rights. Who never act unless when it is late, so what kind of hypocricy are they doing in Africa.
In the service of Africa, I remain
Is it not this Induta General who threatened to 'Kill' Prime Minister Carlos Gomez? What an irony that he's now a victim of 'his own justice'. An exact replica of 'what goes round comes around'. God knows how many has been subjected to 'Induta's justices' before which's currently shaping his own fate. May God guide us all especially those in positions of power, to see the path of truth, sanity & fairness when their words were commands. For, nothing's permanent EXCEPT TRUTH which's GOD HIMSELF.
