Suicide is not acceptable in Islam but only Allah knows why a man contemplates on taking own life. BUT what about an IDOL worshipper so-called super hero who’s killing Gambians & non nationals left, right & centre; as well as luring virgin girls from Cassamance on potential jobs promises ONLY to be sacrificed @ idol shrines? ONLY HUTUMATA, the hottest part of Hell fire awaits such persons & ALL those conscious/unconsciously encouraging, aiding & abetting for continuity of such status quo.
May Allah bless the departed soul & ALL before him; & help the family & loved ones get over the grieve; AMEEN.
May Allah grant the deceased forgiveness and help the family settle down with their shock¨and grieve.
You may be right, but it is not always a clear cut black or white situation. There are gray areas.
Hence, we shouldn't bandwagon into condemning a person, who for reasons unknown to us, decides to end his life in such a tragic manner.
Your kind of holier-than-thou approach does little to help troubled people "living on the edge."
I don't know where you are from, but in Gambian culture, we don't go about preaching against a man's shortcomings at his funeral. We either say nice things about the dead or hold our peace. We usually let the creator do the judging.
And
Efforts need to be put in place to improve mental health delivery. It is unfortunate that unless a person throws away their cloths and heads to the market, most Gambians consider them sane.
The surge in depression, family pressures, substance abuse and other "modern" realities... considerable alters a person's thinking process in ways that could be suicidal.
Hopefully, Mr. Sowe finds peace after his life was brought to such a tragic end.
