A bizarre revelation!

Ben_JammehGambia’s anti-drug agency uncovers gang spy plot
By Abdoulie John

In what can be described as a systematic attempt to infiltrate the country’s anti-narcotics agency, a drug dealer who had offered his services to President Yahya Jammeh in his crusade against drug trafficking has fallen into police net himself.Ben_Jammeh
A dispatch issued by the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) states that the brain behind this ‘spy plot’, Pa Jabel Sosseh, “who claimed to be a patriotic Gambian”, had offered “his services to the Gambia Government in the fight against drug trafficking.”
Pa Jabel Sosseh was detained since August 3, 2010.
NDEA’s two-page dispatch also states that “sometimes in the month of June 2010, he (Pa Jabel Sosseh) wrote to the Office of the President requesting an audience with the President so as to create a strategy to eradicate both drug abuse and drug trafficking. He claimed to be an expert in the area of drugs.”
Mr Sosseh even went up to the extent of stating that he has “both theoretical and practical knowledge on narcotics” and further expressed his desire to work with the country’s anti-narcotics body in its fight against drugs abuse and trafficking.
Lifting a corner of the veil on this unprecedented spy plot, the NDEA’s dispatch quoted a segment of the letter Jabel addressed to the Gambian Head of State: “Your Excellency, I have both theoretical and practical knowledge in narcotics drugs, I can assure you that a disastrous epidemic is imminent if appropriate measures are not taken to combat drug smuggling and trafficking. In the light of the above, as a patriotic Gambian, I am with the objective of joining you in the endeavor of nation building.”
In spite of his inspirational missive, his hopes to bag a job at the NDEA were doomed after anti-narcotics officers conducted a thorough investigation on the issue that subsequently led to his arrest. “On August 3, 2010, Pa Jabel Sosseh and three others were arrested with 5 parcels of Cannabis Sativa in Banjul,” the statement from NDEA said. The men have all been put under custody and are now said to be helping anti-narcotics officers in their investigation.
This latest development constitutes an illustration of what narco-traffickers and other criminals are capable of doing so as to contain the crusade launched against them.
In fact, since President Yahya Jammeh declared a ‘double zero tolerance’ in the fight against drugs, narco-traffickers are deploying all sorts of strategy to infiltrate NDEA and its parallel bodies with the sole objective of destroying any effort to scale up the fight against a phenomenon that is expanding its tentacles within the West African sub-region. The country’s anti-narcotics and law enforcement people though, appear ever determined, capable, professional and going all out heart and soul for these bad guys…

Bro Lamin, i have no reason to hate you or to be annoyed with you but think you need to know somethings that Your president is not a hero the real heroes are still there because of his cowardiness he plan against all to either kill or send them away. I am not afraid to show my name here but i should be concern about my inocent family members i left back home cos jammeh can never see me again, but i have serve Jammeh from 1994 till 2003 he know me very well if am a coward or not. jammeh is just a ceremonial soldire he is soldier who dont know what is even war all about he have been in real combat where you think if i will be hit or not and the same time thinkg of eliminating your enemies.

Cont: Believe me my brother we can never be on one platform because needs and wants varied. My reasons of supporting this government are there for everyone to see. Before 1994 how many schools did we have, university, health centres, bridges , good roads, street lights,TV station, scholarships and the list goes on and on. Those of you who are human right defenders these days in the Gambia are only aware of few rights and not rights to education, health, information and communication,c reation of jobs, religion and the list goes on and on. I dont think that you will disagree with me that today Gambia diplomacy is ten times than the privious government. One can wait for a democratic government that will fulfil 100% human rights and supported by 100%, no opposition and I will be part of it because I will always be with the winning party. This life is too stressful for me to be an opposition.

Very interesting of you on your environmental political analysis that you wonder why I support this government. Is not important telling you people I know and talk to in this government. To me what matters is what projects, services and sacrifice these people are making. One thing I know serving a government you have to be loyal to that government and the president and if you are not then you cant serve to the interest of that particular government. Just as I always say politics should be everyone’s concern but not everyone’s game to play. I would have been one if I was interested but not because of loss of dignity and many more. If people are afraid I don’t think they are at gun point to vote when they are inside the poll. That’s why even you if you sacrifice to run my nation for me, I will give you all my support because I know the task involved that you have sacrificed for the rest of us.

@ lamin..Why should I reveal my identity when I know how Gambia is and put my love ones and people I mingle with in horrific troubles? This show you have little knowledge of Gambia, OR again OR , you have other agenda. But for me, anyone whether yaya or sonko, ever hurt any one of my elder brothers, that will be the end. I cannot bear that in my country where my parents’ and grandparents’ bodies are buried. Your Gambia is very different from the Gambia I observe and know. I don’t hate Pa Jammeh. I think he is very primitive to rule Gambia, but lucky. Even yaya’s mother who was a neighbour (she move now) to my mates property agrees as his watchman in his property said. He likes the constant BUKABOO being there. I don’t know if you naïve or the masquerades carried you away but Gambia is definitely what you portrays. Like I said, you be very careful with you support cos your idol is erratic and ungrateful to many like you.

@ lamin..You don’t know much about Gambia other side my brother. Even a Gambia judge (a classmate since senior high school) and is even scared. I don’t mean them crying. The norm is DO YOUR JOB, STAY OUT THE OPPOSTION AND PRAISE HIM, then you safe in Gambia to be with your family and love ones. But they know Gambia deserve better. I am highly educated and wouldn’t talk shit about such since most of these officials are close family and friends... Maybe you have your own reasons to support yaya . I am advised not even work for government by these guys since threat and looking at your back does not worth. Your Gambia and Yaya Jammeh is different from the reality in Government. You support yaya, which find, but the notion that Gambia is fine and people happy and jolee, is misleading and very untrue. Why I withheld my identity? You always ask and sometimes wonder I why can you don’t know that as if you are trying to visit me.

@ lamin..You are interesting Mr Lamin, I admire you liking for Jammeh. I now believe that you don’t know much about the politics of Gambia. If you know what I knew and people I talked to, you will not be thinking like you do now or may be not since we are from different world. My brother, People don’t like yayha (maybe the very poor and we know why), they are scared. Very scared. They have reasons to be you, because they have seen friends sacked, jailed and released with horrific abuses for no reason or crime, some even taken back since there are no other choices. Why? You work honestly and it collides with his interest. Yayha ventured into business and was not satisfy with his share… I will just let this out now;; I have sit down in a house with a PS, SOS, and Dir telling an newly appointed SOS, he just do his job and be careful what he talks about, since yaya is a madman.

Cont: I always say I will never disagree that there are political problems in the Gambia as to me this is imminent in every country, with countries worse than others. No matter who leads the Gambia there are others who peace is a threat to them. Whether we agree or not Jammehs administration has registered and continues to register great success for the country. We can remember him in different ways but I believe who so ever lead, people will be send to prison, corruption will continue in offices, murder by who I don’t know will continue and many more. It is reported in the daily observer that 66 murder cases are pending in court. Was it Jammeh who murder those people? I will be stupid here to say we will not have a brave leader to fight corruption without favour or fear after Jammeh? My brother we are in a wider world that I will never say the impossible to happen. It will be good if we have a country free of crime and everything you mentioned but are this achievable in this era?

Cont: has seen or received something directly or indirectly that deserve it. This does not mean all effort is from Jammeh but is a team work that he coordinates. Like today if you visit the point news, you will read 50 awarded scholarships to Taiwan. What do you think the beneficiaries of this project will say? They will praise the president who is the coordinator. All my writings am always against those not on the ground or hiding their identity and saying all short of rubbish I put it. Who is going to do the Job for them? Like Fearless is saying Jammeh is a coward but 16yrs it’s heroes leaving the country for him. Jammeh was not an invite to the council but a founder and member. He was part of the team that I agreed is backed by experienced soldiers who one time served in Liberia. It’s Jammeh hiring and firing. So where is he a coward? It is unfortunate that some people don’t try to use common sense to interpret words or statements because of diverge views.
