Nanama Keita Takes Issue With Dida Halake

Dear Dida Halake
(Opinion) – When I was writing this piece, I was expecting readers to have divergent views hence  come up with divergent comments, but your comments are mere craps based purely on personal vendetta.  I would have expected Pa Malick Faye or whosoever is related to this saga to come out and refute my claims but not a deceitful and shameless guy like you who always jumps into matters that do not concern you.

In my article, I only mentioned how you came and abruptly left the Daily Observer following your rift with Amadou Samba, hence you have nothing to do with this case. But since you decided to own up the show, maybe I should - in a brief statement - clarify why you are so obsessed to the extent of fabricating pieces just to settle what I would call old scores.

Nanama Keita

When you took charge at Observer, the first thing you did was to increase my salary by hundred percent and your reasons were that during your earlier visits to the office as a columnist, you had realised that I was the only guy who was committed to his work.  Your words: “I was typing my own stories, laying them on the computer myself, before printing the lay-out plate for the printers unlike others who depended on lay out editors for both typing and final lay-out”.

I only fell-out with you when you changed colours and started treating Observer staff and by extension Gambians like beasts in their own country. Am sure you can still recall when you suspended two lady staffers Jainaba Baldeh and Nyima Marong for walking just 500m from Observer offices to share their grieve with our bereaved security officer Buba Conteh who had lost his dad in mid-town Bakau.

Yet when it was your daughter’s birthday, you took almost everyone at Observer to your Kotu house for a birthday bash during working hours. I was one of the few if not the only one who refused to go and my reason was that you don’t treat your staff with respect and dignity hence I will not do anything to please you unlike others.

Months later and from out of fear, you told me that I would be better in the army than in journalism after you shouted at me unnecessarily in the editorial office before I responded with a louder shout that nearly consumed you.

More cracks appeared in our relationship in late 2007 when the Gambia Football Association was courting the Belgian Coach Paul Put to lead the Gambia Scorpions. When the GFA announced its desire to sign the Belgian, I threw my weight behind them believing that it would be a plus for our football. During the lobbying process, however, the then minister of Youth & Sports, Mass Axi Gye, who was reluctant to endorse the coach’s signing, called me on my phone and informed me that his ministry was not going to put its money into a coach that was involved in a betting scandal referring to Paul Put’s past record in his native Belgium. I took him for his words, which he said, were off the record.

But after a long wait, the then GFA Vice President General Langtombong Tamba and others succeeded in getting Africell and President Jammeh to tie the coach to a two-year contract much to the delight of local soccer fans. Aware that the President is now involved and in a bid to safeguard his ministerial post,  Axi Gaye immediately called me this time requesting that I do a story to say that his ministry supported the GFA to get Africell to fund the coach’s salary.  But with his earlier comment in mind, I contacted General Tamba to crosscheck the minister’s claim but I was told that his ministry didn’t play any role in the signing. Convinced that Minister Gye was just covering his back, I decided to dump the story.

Dida_HalakiYou Halake were not aware of this entire debacle until when Axi called you to inform you that I was siding with the GFA and had also refused to run his article. And to please Axi, you reported me to the NIA Director who was among the dignitaries at the Banjul International Airport to receive the President. In your words to the NIA chief, as I would later be told, you claimed to have warned me several times to desist from writing articles that were critical of the sports ministry as you made references to some of my articles that criticized the way the sports ministry handled the coach saga .

Luckily for me however, General Tamba was present when you were carrying out your mischievous act and you were embarrassed when Tamba blasted you for lying to the NIA Director just to please a state minister. Tamba informed you that I did the right thing by helping the GFA to lobby for the signature of the Belgian.

Leaving the airport with your tail between your legs, you arrived at the office in that evening and greeted me with a half-smile only for Tamba to call me that very evening to tell me about your mischievous deeds at my back.  From that day, you made General Tamba your number one enemy, though you would only make your grievance known after you had left the country following your shock sacking at Observer in 2008.

This is the same grievance you had always held against me since you left Banjul, knowing that I had never bowed down to your nonsense. When problem first started in Gambia, you Dida happily wrote in JollofNews comment box that I would most likely be in Mile II prison, and that I should greet General Tamba for you when I get there.

Following my exit from Gambia in September 2011, you again mischievously wrote several disparaging articles to a particular online paper attacking my personality only for the paper’s editor to turn them down for lacking merits. Therefore with the blockage of every window of opportunities for you to vent your anger against me, you see my recent article as a perfect chance to make your baseless remarks.

But you should have known better that I didn’t fortget who you are: an inexcusable pretender-cum-liar who always wants to be at the centre of every conversation. I must however remind you that this is not your show and you should let the relevance parties speak for themselves rather than using it to pursue a personal agenda.

Isn’t puzzling to note how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. But like the saying goes, there is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.
I rest my case.

I cannot imagine an old man of alake's calibre coming on line saying things like He love fore play ect.
As our faith guides us elders stay close t the mosque.
Mr. Halake stick to the topic. I ask you again were you not the devil's own hired agent at the observer hiring and firing at will? Why then accuse mr. keita of lying against you when he barely mentioned you? You see now all has beeen brought to light about your evil deeds at the Observer.

Fatou Jatou, don't worry about this RUDE BONEHEAD Sering.

A "concubine" of HRH Halake would be a satisfied Princess, whereas Sering's would be a mere maid sweeping the goats droppings from her husband Serings compound before he comes home. The BONEHEAD would probably grunt and beat her as some sort of Neanderthall "I love foreplay" ritual!! Look how he threatens and abuses a woman he has never met on the internet!!

Have a lovely week-end, I am taking a Fulani Princess on a week's holiday.

You will be far better off being this Old Ethiopians concubine - and your children are gauranteed to be intelligent and beautiful because it is all in the genes!! Have a nice week-end my darling concubine, I am delighted and honoured to have such an intelligent LADY!!

Faratou Jatou,
Are you Halake's concubine? Why holding breaf for him? I knew more than you that Halake's kids are minors because I have kids too. What is your own? I may be petty but not your type as I only respond to my kind. I only only did in your case because I am of the opinion you are a female and I respect all female regardless.x
I urge Halake to seek medical attention because this man has cause innocent Gambians a lot of pain while working for the devil and if you don't like what am writting then you have to close your eyes when you see my posting for I will only stop when this fool apologise to Gambians.x

Quoting Radiokangkang:
Dida Halake, What is BONEHEAD TRIBE?

Radiokangkang, you are too smart to worry about it! You won't qualify!

I just realised Nanama is writing this letter TO ME!!! Getting old!! But I have NO MORE COMMENTS to make here except this:-

Please NANAMA, tell your fellow Gambians whether or not that "80,000 dalasi" cheque you mentioned has been paid to the GPU. A Gambian stood 250,000 SURETY for me. I remained in Gambia on BAIL until my case was dropped and my friends bail bond was no longer at risk. The only thing that matters for your SELF-RESPECT is to re-pay GPU that bail money, just as your "Boss Boss" Sheriff Bojang paid the Omar Barrow Family after he returned to The Gambia. We can argue about everything else, but not about your ABSOLUTE duty to re-pay GPU. I rest my case. Over and out.

Sering show some respect and keep Halake's kids out of this. They're minors and completely innocent. You sound very petty like the Nanama you defending!
