(JollofNews) –
Gambian president Yahya Jammeh has submitted his candidacy for the chairmanship of the African Union.

Mr. Jammeh, 46, is aiming to replace the incumbent chairman, Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea. Both Mr. Jammeh and Obiang have been named by media and human rights organisations as predators of press freedom.

Election for the AU chairmanship will be conducted during the African Heads of State Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on January 29 and 30.

Mr. Jammeh who was sworn-in on Thursday for a fourth term of office in Gambia is being challenged in the chairmanship race by the president of Benin, Yayi Boni.

Over the last six months, Mr Jammeh and Boni have been on the diplomatic offensive as they engaged their ambassadors accredited in strategic countries and at the AU headquarters to ensure victory for their respective heads of state.

You can go on and on and name oncountable untried murdered victims under jammeh, I don't know some of them who were secretely murdered among the military alone. So can you tell me what execuses this government have their failures of bringing these victims to justice? So you think this is the regime that do it all right and deserves every credit for mistereously eliminating its own citizens, putting them on exile, silencing of the citizens against their God given constitutional rights? Well I'll always conclude it with my prayers for God to Bless your heart!!.

Why point exiled editor justice Darboe attacked and was nearly dead and now in another country on exiled for fear of his life? Why journalist ebrima sillah's house was set on fire? Why lawyer ousman sillah was shot thank God he survived the assacination attempt? Why was 44 foreigners massacred in gambian soil not arreested and be tried? Whey chief ebrima manneh is still yet to be found? Why was independent newspaper media center burnt?

Kangkang because you act like one that's the reason, it is like you have no problem wirh all these Jammeh brutality. Matter of fact, you ae the only user on this blog that I have yet to see mentioned Jammeh Brutalit/the uselessness of his regime in the regards to the followings1. Killing of Ousman Koro Ceesay under his regime. Why was ousman not tried in court like u said every citizen should be tried and face any consequences after being guilty?2 why the april 10 and 11 massacred students not arrested and possible be tried instead of killing them. 1hy deyda was no arrested and be tried or why is government so irresponsible on their investigation on his murder case if the have no hand in the operation?
