(JollofNews) - Gambian president Yahya Jammeh has described opposition parties in the country as a bunch of people who are not interested in peace and development.
Speaking to journalists after casting his vote on Thursday, President Jammeh who is seeking a fourth term of office, said there is no genuine opposition party in the country.

“We don’t have opposition in this country,” he said. “What we have is a bunch of people who hate this country and I will not work with them.”

“If they were people who are real opposition who want peace and stability in this country then I’m ready to work with them. I am ready to work with anybody who wants peace but not those who want to destroy this country. When things are good they are unhappy. They have gone around the world to tarnish the image of this country. In this country we fear only god and what matters to me is the development, peace and stability of this country and I will not follow anybody. I only follow God, my religion and my people.”

Asked whether he is confident of sweeping the polls, President Jammeh said the Gambian people are development oriented and knows who can bring development to them.

“In 17 years I have delivered more development in this country than the British were able to deliver in 400 years. So no Westerner has anything to tell me. No western government can tell me about democracy,” he said.

On whether he would concede defeat if results do not go his way, President Jammeh responded: “Do I look like a loser? There is no way I can lose unless you tell me that all the Gambian people are mad. I am here for the Gambian people and if they say we don’t want you, I will go home and be a farmer. I am a farmer and I don’t depend on anybody. I only depend on myself.”

President Jammeh's government has been criticised by international rights groups for its attitude to civil liberties, especially freedom of the press and the detention and disappearance of journalists.

“When they talk about rights, freedom of the press and [saying] this country is a hell for journalists. There are freedoms and responsibilities," he said.

"The journalists are less than 1% of the population and if anybody expects me to allow less than 1% of the population to destroy 99% of the population, you are in the wrong place."

Fooling nobody but himself. Moroccan gold digger cunningly milking everything she could. No true love. Gambian sycophants talking sweet. No sincerity. Fools can only be fools. Time will tell.

I think you have started to seeing my predictions here when I said, Arafang Yahya will Hit them with His Batten their Heads, and we all can see the signs of that !
My Congratulations to Arafang Yahya, President of This Year, Next Year and the Year After! And his tireless Radiokangkang within the Media who many were looking at as ANTI Oppositions but, Iam always with him on that, because Kambi Bolong is not Yet lucky to getting Opposition who have the Gambia in their Hearts.
In as long as we are having such Opposition, we will remain to be rule by the Incumbent leader !

My little Advise to Arafang will be, Please "ESABARI" and treat your challengers as mare selfish people of our generation without any doubt on that

That should tell every Gambian that this election will not be free and fair..May God have mercy on all of us..God bless the Gambia

No matter what you thinking, nothing equate my freedom. If you put me in the best paradise, if you give me choice food every minute, if you give me best robes every hour, if you always do everything within your power to take good care of me, but you do not give me my freedom, surely you are not my friend. The best gift you can give me is freedom. Nothing equates my freedom, that's why I cannot live in such nation you call THE GAMBIA. I love freedom, I cherish freedom even if I lack today and have freedom to exert my power to make things right, one day I shall get to my envision world. I love THE GAMBIA. I cannot support any dictator. I prefer freedom
