Gambian Ex-Minister, Others Trial Adjourned

Dr_Janneh1(JollofNews) – The treason trial of former Information and Communication Minister Dr Amadou Scattred Janneh and 3 other co-accused persons resumed on Thursday at the Banjul High Court with the defense applying for an adjournment. A large crowd stormed the high court premises to witness proceedings. Dr_Janneh1
State prosecutors also included in their indictment Ndey Tapha Sosseh former Gambian Press Union, Mathew K. Jallow and Famara Demba who are said to be out of the jurisdiction of the court.
Like Dr Janneh, the accused faced charges that they ‘‘conspired amongst themselves to print and distribute T-shirts bearing 'Coalition for Change Gambia, End Dictatorship Now' with intent to usurp the executive powers of the state’’.
When the case was mentioned for hearing, Lawyer Borry Touray, who was holding brief for defense counsel Lamin S. Camara, applied for an adjournment. He also filed a complaint about the detention conditions of Dr Janneh, describing it as unacceptable. According to Lawyer Touray, the former Gambian Minister is detained in a cell with a porous roof that keeps leaking during rain.
Despite the fact that the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mikailu Abdulahi objected to the relevance of the defense request for adjournment on the grounds he has many witnesses to bring in court, Justice Emmanuel Nkea conceded to adjourn the case to 19-20 October, 2011 for further hearing. He then ordered the prisons authorities to clean Dr Janneh's cell and find remedy to the problem.

Stop making fools of yourselves and dismantle your fantasy life and live true and pure.

One by one we will ask the Dictators out nicely and if they refuse then we wil kill them one by one as they did to others. What goes around comes back around. Ghadafi is finish. Guess who is next; DICTATOR JAMMEH. This one should be much more easier. Now is the best time to step down Mr. Dictators' don't let us force you out or it will be very ugly. DEMOCRACY DEMOCRACY DEMOCRACY.... peace and freedom to all.

Malick...word up! I am a "Jatta Fa Koring" we dont sing songs! If you know your history you would have taken aback what you said.

I dont blame you; because by my analysis of your comments here you are NOT acquainted fully with the Gambian history.

Malick NO LEADER in Gambian history has ever dictated the cause leadership in the region where I come from...even todate. Ask around...you need to be educated about realities of Gambia.

But let me make it categorically clear to you...My love and support for Jammeh is unconditional and will remain so. If I could never be influence by my family otherwise in the past to support oppositions...I will never be never be moved in supporting Jammeh as my choice.

I am blood line of "Kiti Soto and Jabindor"...we never sing songs...we are "Korings"

In support of Jammeh...I remain unmoved

It looks like you also being mentored by watching Moussa Ibrahim, the spokesman of Gadhafi. Ivorian dissolute leader supporters did say that before fleeing to Gambia. Well….hiding behind "gambianice" of course U would not be moved. U are not daft as I thought but a common hustler and a “fly” moved by the wind to land where ferment calls with new face.

Malick,is that all you have to say about my script? No one deserves to go back to school more than you. At your age,if you still cannot identify the difference between good and bad governance. The English language is just a medium for communication and is not better than any other language. What we need, are people who are focused, patriot ic and have the Gambian interest at heart.

Well, U are protected by these Chams in Jollofnews to read my erased comments constantly while they are victims of your ignorance. If U know what is good governance why do you have to hide your real life or many here to avoid repercussions. Is that the place you call good governance in your mentality. You will live to witness good governance in Gambia to know what it meant for U and your children. English is a global Business Language N wrote on all products globally. Not just language like any...prick.

This is so funny guys. A president scared of what his own hands did to this country and charging its citizens with treason for writing on a t-shirt because he is afraid.

Malick,is that all you have to say about my script? No one deserves to go back to school more than you.I don't know how far you went with your studies but you definitely need some serious prayers. At your age,if you still cannot identify the difference between good and bad governance. The Gambia doesn't only need people who read or write good English. The English language is just a medium for communication and is not better than any other language. What we need, are people who are focused, patriot ic and have the Gambian interest at heart.

Malick,no one deserves the name(DAFT) more than you.You have been running from website to website just like a chicken with head cut off.Do you remember this old proverb that "A rolling stone gathers no mus"? To be honest, you have lost it all!We don't come to jollof News to get democracy.Instead,we are trying to export some of the democracy in the Gambia to Jollof news. This is why you guys are beginning to tolerate us now.I can still remember how hard it was for you to tolerate us in this site when I started writing here.Things are much better now, meaning that we have at least taught you some lessons.

Well Batch Samba, U are nothing for Gambia nor importance but just a parasite. U need to go back to school to interpret phrases.
