Mai Fatty
(JollofNews) - The leader of the Gambia Moral Congress is being allegedly harassed by unknown people in the run up to the country’s presidential elections.

Speaking to JollofNews, Mai Ahmad Fatty, who recently returned to the Gambia after four years in self-exile, said he has received a barrage of anonymous calls from people.

''They are threatening my life and said they are very mad with my campaign speeches. They are claiming to be security personnel,'' he told JollofNews.

“They say I will pay for my criticisms of President Yahya Jammeh and his regime.”

However, it is not clear whether Mr Fatty has reported the alleged phone threats to the police.

Yeah,Jammeh needs his critics but does he know this? After casting his vote in Banjul, Jammeh gave an interview where he accused the opposition ( no distinction made ) of lacking the interest of the country and vowed not to work with them. Coincidence ? Don't think so...Mai is certainly a brave man with lots of potentials, but so too was Koro Ceesay and many others who crossed Jammeh's path....Mai should watch his steps very carefully ...

Gambian's should be very proud of Mai Ahmed Fatty. He has placed his life and his ambitions for Gambian's on the line.

Those who ever doubted his sincerity..should now eat there words.

Mai is comitted and extremely brave.

Jammeh needs Mai more than ever....for there must be a voice tat is disciplined and connected for those who feel agrieved and angry.

Otherwise...this brooding malcontent could so easily erupt into confrontation.

Peace must prevail.

Victor....how can you fear someone when you are in power ? Tell me which ruler is afraid of anyone ? Wasn't Saddam supposed to be the bravest man promising to fight ' the mother of all battles ?' Where was he found ? Wasn't Gaddaffi supposed to be the 'strong man' of Africa? Where was he found ? Stop being naive .... Power makes people say all sorts of things....And Yaya Jammeh is power drunk..,.As for Mai, you watch and see...They will get him on some frivolous charge if the time is right...

Quoting Bax:
Mai is free to go up and down the country because the powers that be know the risks involved if they try to arrest him...Jammeh must be dying to lay his hands on Mai, but he wouldn't dare to do it just now...if Mai continues to live in the country, don't be surprised if he gets picked up at a later date, when the election euphoria has died down, and 'normal' business resumes...

Mai is like any other ordinary Gambian. There are people more powerful than Mai. As long as he doesn't break any law he can go where he wish, but if he does, he is not sacred, just like any other Gambian.

Jammeh fears no one but Allah.. Alhamdullilah!

No matter what you thinking, nothing equate my freedom. If you put me in the best paradise, if you give me choice food every minute, if you give me best robes every hour, if you always do everything within your power to take good care of me, but you do not give me my freedom, surely you are not my friend. The best gift you can give me is freedom. Nothing equates my freedom, that's why I cannot live in such nation you call THE GAMBIA. I love freedom, I cherish freedom even if I lack today and have freedom to exert my power to make things right, one day I shall get to my envision world. I love THE GAMBIA. I cannot support any dictator. I prefer freedom
