Why Gambians Should Vote For Lawyer Darboe

Yero_Jallow

(Mailbag) - Gambia’s presidential elections are slated for November 24th 2011. I just wanted to send my last minute appeal to all Gambians regardless of their political affiliation, tribe or religion.

It is better that we dwell on the things that unite as Gambians than the things that will divide us. During the past six years, I have been a supporter to the NADD formula and still believe that was the best on the table. Now that things didn’t go in that direction, and given the circumstance, Hamat Bah should withdraw his

candidature and convince his supporters to rally behind Lawyer Darboe so we can finally send Yaya Jammeh packing.

Given the fact that Darboe has more followers and has taken second position in all the past elections, he is certainly in a better position to defeat Jammeh than the Independent Candidate Hamat Bah.

On the above token, the Gambia is bigger than any of us. I appeal to all those that has been doing the politics of tribe to desist from it completely. The politics of tribe has no place in our midst. It is one Gambia, one people!

While saluting all our opposition, media houses, and those concerned Gambians continually wishing Jammeh and his pact to vanish once and for all, I also wanted to appeal to all to keep the peace. The Gambia belongs to all of us and we all have equal stakes.
Vote and vote massively for Lawyer Darboe!

Sincerely,
Yero Jallow (USA)

I strongly agree! but we have few choices therefore, let us not dictate who our people should vote for.

Lets move away from politics of personality...Lets talk about the issues that are of concern to The Gambian people...I believe you have misquoted Hamat Bah...What Hamat said was that he will never be part of a PARTY LED coalition unless it is led by the NRP and himself...Bah is a party leader just like Darboe or Fatty or Gomez...So if he had given his unconditional support to Darboe in 2006,why shouldn't he demand reciprocation from Darboe, this time around...It is a fallacy to say that only Darboe can defeat Jammeh...On the contrary,it is the people who can effect change....The choice before the people is whether they want a new beginning, a continuation of the present or the resurrection of the past...November 25th will determine our fate.

Thank You Yorro for your time thank you all those who made their contribution. You have all spoken your hearts.
I belived in Yorros points and I have a reason for it.
Where do you come across a miniority defeating a majority in election.W will sext our selves back again for not joining a UDP lad qualition.
At the end of the day, Jammeh will lead likely below 50% and Darboe will double Bah and will go into another five years of hardship and blame game.Who is Bah to say I will not join any party wll befor the meeting...

Hey Mr Jallow....Being the best person to defeat an incumbent is not always the best option for the country and opposition...Look at Senegal...Wade was the best person and he succeeded, but what is the situation today ? It is better to have a best option than best person...If you believe in the NADD option, similar to the United Front, then ask people to vote for Hamat Bah...No personality politics...It should be issues...And the United Front offers the best option for The Gambia...Previous records cannot be discounted, but this is a new voter register...Also there were many, many who were undecided in 2006...And many first time voters in 2011...So conclusions should not be easily drawn...It is the people that can defeat Jammeh....And the group who convinces the most will have a better chance....

Borry, Darboe was elected by more people as leader and candidate at the Jarra SOMA CONGRESS 2011 than the 189 delegates that elected Hamat Bah at the pdois engineered convention.

In fact, it was Hamat who said he would not join any alliance that is not led by him. What is more arrogant than that? The truth is, Hamat is just being used as a proxy in the fight between pdois and udp but his candidature is not viable.

Yero is right; Gambia should vote Darboe if they want to see Jammeh out.

Thanks

No Yero Gambians would not buy that cheap advocate. Jammeh is a dictator in power and Darboe a dictator not in power. Gambians should vote for the united front led by Hamat Bah. They are more genuine than these yellow people who think Darboe must rule at all cost. Thanks Yero but NO we wont. Gambia Vote for Hamat Bah of the united front.
