The journalist made himself available at the police. His wife was briefly detained few days earlier while journalist Ceesay was attending a two week workshop at Njeliba hotel at Kololi.
She was asked to produce her husband.
Though he was released on bail yesterday, after spending a night in detention, journalist Saikou Ceesay is yet to be charged for any crime.
However, his arrest is allegedly linked to the bail of Nanama Keita, a former Daily Observer deputy editor, who jumped bail and fled to U.S to attend a fellowship.
Ceesay is Nanama Keita’s surety. He will be arraigned this morning at the magistrates’ court in Banjul.
Bailed at a tune of hundred thousand dalasi, Nanama was facing false information allegations at the magistrates’ court in Banjul when he petitioned The Daily Observer Managing Director to the office of the president, claiming wrongful termination of his engagement and financial mismanagement by the Observer management.
He had denied any wrong doing.
